Women’s Empowerment refer to increasing and improving the personal, social, economic, political and legal strength of woman, so as to ensure equal rights and the self-confidence to claim their rights. These are the same rights that pertain to all human persons. When women are empowered and all human right respected, the quality of life improves for women, men, families and communities. The UN has established women’s empowerment principles. These are adapted by GST and summarized as:

Treat all women and men, girls and boys, fairy-respect and support human rights and non-discrimination.
Established spaces for women’s and girl’s leadership.
Ensure access to health for all girl and women, throughout her life-circle.
Promote education, training and professional development to girls and women.
Implement economic literacy, enterprise development, and marketing practices that promote economic stability for women.
Promote community initiatives and advocacy based on equality and non-discrimination.

Good Shepherd Thailand (GST) is committed to empowering women and promoting gender equality in Thailand. Through our various programs and activities, we work to build the capacity of women and provide them with the skills and resources they need to become leaders in their communities.
